The Community Services Department is comprised of five diverse divisions, providing customer focused services and information to all Volusia County residents and visitors, to assist in sustaining and outstanding quality of life. In addition, Community Services serve as a liaison for the county with the Volusia County Health Department. The following identifies each division and summarizes the services provided. 

	Community Assistance The purpose of the division is to improve the quality of life for Volusia County residents. Staff coordinates and develops the various community services of federal, state, and local agencies along with the citizens of the county for more efficient utilization and delivery of community resources.
	University of Florida Extension A partnership between the University of Florida and Volusia County Government providing educational programming covering a multitude of subjects that fall in five categories including natural resources, livestock, commercial horticulture, urban horticulture, 4-H programs and family and consumer counseling.
	Library Services Collects, organizes, and provides a quality selection of books, materials, and other media to all residents of Volusia County.
	Parks, Recreation and Culture Whether you want to take a nature walk, see historic sites and sugar mills, learn more about the environment, or visit museums or cultural opportunities, Volusia County has it all.
	Veterans Services Provides U.S. Armed Forces veterans and/or their dependents assistance in obtaining earned benefits. Veterans are counseled on the rules and regulations governing benefits and providing follow-up action as required.
	VOTRAN A mass transit service which carries out the policy and authority on all matters affecting public transportation. The countywide transportation system provides bus service, trolley service and transportation for the physically challenged.
	Health Services The Volusia County Health Department is a partnership between Volusia County Government and the State of Florida. Its mission is to promote, protect, maintain, and improve the health and safety of Volusia County residents and visitors. Both the county and the state provide funding and facilities to care for our citizens.

The administrative arm of the department, including the Director, Operations Manager and Administrative Aid provides administrative direction and support services for the activities within the divisions.
