Frank Bruno has a long and distinguished record of service to the residents of Volusia County. He moved here from New Jersey in 1970 and soon became an entrepreneur and an active community volunteer.

He established Lithocraft Printing, which he owned for 23 years, and which continues to prosper today. Frank is a former Vice Mayor of Ponce Inlet, where he lives with his wife, Mary. They have one daughter, Kim, and a grandson, Ian.

Frank is a veteran of the U.S. Army and has won numerous awards for his volunteer service to the community.

Frank was first elected to the County Council in 1982 and served through 1988. He was the Chairman in 1987. He was re-elected in 1998 and served as the Chairman in 2003.

He chairs the Tourist Development Council, which is overseeing the expansion of the Ocean Center. He also chairs the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board and the Congress of Regional Leaders, which is comprised of leaders from seven Central Florida counties. In addition, he is a member of the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission and a board member of EVAC. He is a former chair of the Volusia County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).

In the 2004 election, Frank made history when he became the first elected Volusia County Chair, winning a challenging race by a considerable margin. His campaign was widely recognized as a model for positive campaigns. He was honored with a national communications award for his radio spot on the subject of leadership.

Frank was re-elected in 2008 without opposition and will serve another four-year term as County Chair.
