C.A.M.P. (County Aqua Marine Program)
A fun water camp offering participants a skilled, aquatic activity
focused on environmental impact, education and safety. The program is
limited to 12 children per session. All instructors are certified divers.
Participants are required to attend classes at a different site each day
of the week. Parents must provide transportation to sites.

sun block, lunch and water bottle

Science Center
Fee: $45 per participant, per week
Spring Break Trip Program
Fill your children’s break time with daily trips and lots of
exciting destinations including movies, skating, and water parks.

Fee: $5 if child is not registered in the after-school program.
Teen
Club Trips
One Saturday per month to places such as Disney Quest, Wet ’n
Wild, and Universal Studios. Trip times to be determined.

Clubs
After school adult supervision for youth ages 11-15 during the
school year. Teens can enjoy games, receive homework help, participate in
sports and more.
Registration fee: $5 per year
Afterschool Program
Adult-supervised activities Monday-Friday from 2 - 5:30 p.m.
during the school year for children grades K-5. Children can participate
in games and sports and receive homework assistance.

'n Crafts for Kids
Learn how to be “crafty”. Dress for a mess!

Silhouettes Dance Team
Dance team performs in parades, nursing homes and various other
functions and ceremonies

Field
Trip Program
A fun alternative for kids during teacher duty days, spring
and winter breaks. Trips range from roller skating and movies to a day
at Universal Studios.
Ages: Youths 6-15
Materials needed: Bring lunch and spending money
Registration: Usually 1-2 weeks prior to the trip. Exact dates to be
announced via flyers at the schools listed below.
Registration Sites: Woodward Avenue Elementary and McInnis Elementary
cafeterias, during dates and times listed on flyers.
Fee: $5 registration fee, plus trip fee ranging from $10 - $40
ECHO
Rangers
An Echo Ranger is a student who learns the adventures of the
ECHO (Echological, Cultural, Heritage and Outdoor) offerings in Volusia
County. Must complete a minimum of eight sites. Sites have various
designated dates and times for the activities. Participants must be
accompanied by an adult at all times.
Ages: Children in grades 2 - 6
Fee: $15 registration fee
Mosaic Décor
Create unique decorative articles for your home or office with
mosaic design using tiles, favorite pieces of china, etc. Cover items such
as picture frames, vases and more! Learn how in one two-hour session.

Photography for kids and adults
Learn how to take better photos. Instruction includes how to
focus and operate a camera and how to frame shots to get good quality
photos.

Nutcracker at Bob Carr Auditorium
See a wonderful performance of the Nutcracker. A bus will
depart DeLand for the December performance. Date to be announced. Please
call Leisure Services for further information.

decorating for kids
Children will learn basic cake decorating skills, helpful hints
and frosting recipes. They will create three fully decorated cakes.

Learn the basics of decorating, helpful tips and recipes.
Participants will decorate five cakes.

Canoeing
Go out for a day of fun in the sun and see all of nature’s
magnificent beauty. Take you and yours canoeing on Volusia County’s
rivers, lakes and creeks.
Materials needed: Canoe (or we
will provide it with paddle). We provide life preserver and guide. Large
groups (10 minimum/20 maximum).
Ages: 16 - up
Fees: $15 includes canoe ($10 if have your own craft)
Summer canoeing adventure
C.A.M.P
Children can enjoy canoeing the waterways throughout Volusia County with
an experienced guide.
Materials needed: Canoe (or we
will provide it with paddle, life preserver and guide), lunch/drink.
Ages: 11 - older
Fees: $60 per four-day session
Coffee, quilting and cards
Come by for a cup of coffee, make a quilt, or play your
favorite card game.
Ages: Senior citizens
